Jennifer Lawrence will be honored with the Donostia Award at the 73rd San Sebastian Film Festival. The Oscar-winning actor will receive the career honor at a Sept. 26 gala in the Kursaal Auditorium, followed by a screening of her latest film, โDie My Love.โ
Directed by Lynne Ramsay and produced by Lawrence through her banner Excellent Cadaver, โDie My Loveโ premiered at Cannes earlier this year. Adapted from Ariana Harwiczโs novel, the drama stars Lawrence as Grace, a writer and young mother whose mental health unravels in rural Montana. Her increasingly erratic behavior puts a strain on her relationship with partner Jackson. The cast also includes Robert Pattinson, LaKeith Stanfield, Nick Nolte and Sissy Spacek.
Lawrence won the best actress Oscar in 2012 for โSilver Linings Playbookโ and has three additional nominations for โAmerican Hustle,โ โJoyโ and โDonโt Look Up.โ She headlined the โHunger Gamesโ franchise and, in 2018, launched Excellent Cadaver with producing partner Justine Ciarrocchi. The companyโs slate includes โCauseway,โ โNo Hard Feelings,โ and the documentaries โZurawski v. Texasโ and โBread & Roses,โ the latter of which earned a Peabody Award.
The Donostia Award is San Sebastianโs lifetime achievement honor. Past recipients include Penรฉlope Cruz, Glenn Close, Denzel Washington, Sigourney Weaver and Ethan Hawke.
