IDFA Forum Awards 2024: ‘Dry Sky,’ ‘Do You Love Me?’ Take Top Honors

The 37th edition of IDFA recognizes standout projects across Pitch, Rough Cut, DocLab and Producers Connection categories.

The International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam (IDFA) has announced the winners of the 2024 IDFA Forum Awards during a ceremony held at Felix Meritis on Nov. 20. Winners in each category received €1,500.

The Forum Award for Best Pitch went to “Dry Sky” by Ibrahim Omar, selected by a jury of Dorota Lech and Malin Huber. Special mentions were given to Asmahan Bkerat’s “Concrete Land” and Jukka Kärkkäinen’s “The Beauty of Errors.”

“Do You Love Me?,” directed by Lana Daher, earned the Forum Award for Best Rough Cut, with jurors Burcu Melekoglu and Mandisa Zitha recognizing the film’s standout presentation.

The DocLab Forum Award was presented to May Abdalla’s “Amorphous,” with a special mention for “The Four Floors of Faneuil Hall,” co-directed by Simon Wood and Meghna Singh.

The newly introduced Producers Connection Award went to “Looking for the Mermaid” by Yara Costa. The award jury included Bianca Oana and Daan Vermeulen.

This year’s IDFA Forum, which ran from Nov. 17 to 20 at Felix Meritis and Pakhuis de Zwijger in Amsterdam, featured 55 projects across its sections, including Forum Pitch, Producers Connection, Rough Cut Presentations, and DocLab Forum.
