The Vancouver International Film Festival (VIFF) has announced the Audience Award winners for its 43rd edition, following more than 41,000 ballots cast by festivalgoers over the course of the 11-day event.

This yearโ€™s festival, which ran from Sept. 26 to Oct. 6, drew more than 95,000 attendees to its screenings, live performances and special events. The Audience Awards highlight audience favorites across nine programming sections.

Walter Sallesโ€™ โ€œIโ€™m Still Hereโ€ took the top honor in the Galas & Special Presentations category, while โ€œNo Other Land,โ€ directed by Basel Adra, Hamdan Ballal, Yuval Abraham and Rachel Szor, won in the Showcase section.

Other winners include Jules Arita Koostachinโ€™s โ€œAngelaโ€™s Shadowโ€ (Panorama), Lotfi Achourโ€™s โ€œRed Pathโ€ (Vanguard), and Christopher Auchterโ€™s โ€œThe Standโ€ (Northern Lights), which also received a $10,000 CAD Letterboxd marketing campaign.

Additional audience favorites were โ€œThe Chef & the Darumaโ€ (Insights), โ€œGrand Theft Hamletโ€ (Spectrum), โ€œLuther: Never Too Muchโ€ (Portraits), and โ€œ40 Acresโ€ (Altered States).

Jury-selected award winners were previously announced during a ceremony on Oct. 2.
