The Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival (PÖFF) has announced the complete selection for its 2024 ‘Rebels with a Cause competition,’ a section spotlighting films that push the boundaries of cinematic art. Launched in 2017, the sidebar has developed a reputation for championing experimental and provocative works, and remains a festival highlight.

This year’s Rebels with a Cause program features 10 feature-length titles, including six world premieres and four international debuts. Complementing the lineup, the festival’s PÖFF Shorts sub-festival presents ‘Rebels With Their Shorts,’ a parallel showcase of 14 short films, with one world premiere and one international premiere.

Germany is the focus country of this year’s Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival, which runs from Nov. 8 to 24 in Estonia. The festival will open with the world premiere of “Long Story Short,” a German drama directed by David Dietl, screening at the Alexela Concert Hall.
