Student Academy Awards Reveal 2024 Gold, Silver and Bronze Placements

15 filmmakers recognized across Alternative/Experimental, Animation, Documentary and Narrative categories in London ceremony.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced the Gold, Silver and Bronze placements for the 51st Student Academy Awards during a ceremony held last night at Londonโ€™s ODEON Luxe Leicester Square, in partnership with Rolex.

The 2024 competition drew 2,683 entries from 738 colleges and universities worldwide, with 15 student filmmakers honored across four categories: Alternative/Experimental, Animation, Documentary and Narrative.

Academy CEO Bill Kramer and president Janet Yang delivered remarks at the ceremony, while Academy board members Chris Sanders (The Wild Robot) and Jason Reitman (Saturday Night) presented the awards.

This year marked first-time wins for the National Institute of Design in India, Digital Hollywood University in Japan, and the Filmovรก Akademie Miroslava Ondล™รญฤka v Pรญsku in the Czech Republic.

All winning films are now eligible for Oscar consideration in the Animated Short Film, Live Action Short Film and Documentary Short Film categories at the 97th Academy Awards.
